Effective Jan 15, 2026, standard-size fulfillment fees rose slightly based on price bands (average +$0.08/unit). The old Large Oversize tier was split into Small Oversize and Large Oversize with lower fees (down $2.06 and $0.26 on average), the SIPP discount was removed with a ~$2.07 packaging fee for non-SIPP items, and Extra-Large Oversize fees fell $2.08 on average. A 3.5% fuel & inflation surcharge starts April 17, 2026.
SIPP (Ships in Product Packaging) lets you ship items in their own packaging without an extra Amazon box. In 2026 Amazon removed the SIPP discount for oversize items; if your oversize item is not enrolled in SIPP, an average packaging fee of about $2.07 per unit applies. Most items already using SIPP see a net fee decrease.
Girth = longest side + 2 × (median side + shortest side). For example a 30 × 20 × 10 in box has a girth of 30 + 2 × (20 + 10) = 90 inches. Girth matters for oversize tier classification.
Items priced below $10 qualify for a fulfillment fee discount averaging about $0.86 per unit in 2026 (up from $0.77). Small Standard-size items under $10 also see their fee rise $0.12, so the discount still leaves a net benefit for most low-price listings.
Fulfillment fees jump sharply by tier. A product that crosses from Large Standard to Small Oversize can see its per-unit fee rise by several dollars, and oversize items now also face the SIPP packaging fee. Knowing your tier before listing helps you price correctly and optimize packaging.
